Day 02
Delhi Sightseeing

Today after breakfast, proceed on tour of Old Delhi, with a visit Red Fort (closed on Mondays), 1639-48 built by Emperor Shah Jehan, creator of The Taj Mahal. Later visit to Raj Ghat - the site of the memorial to Mahatma Gandhi and Shanti Vana – the memorial of Independent India’s first Prime Minister, Pundit Jawaharlal Nehru. Later drive past through the Embassy area (Diplomatic enclave), Government buildings – Parliament House and Presidents House and India Gate. Then visit Qutab Minar, built in 1193 in Persian style of architecture. Also visit Humayuns Tomb - this magnificent garden tomb is the first substantial example of Mughal architecture in India. It was built in 1565 A.D. nine years after the death of Humayun, by his senior widow Bega Begam. Inside the walled enclosure the most notable features are the garden squares (chaharbagh) with pathways water channels, centrally located well proportional mausoleum topped by double dome. Day 03
Delhi – Agra Sightseeing

This morning drive to Agra - in the 16th and 17th centuries was the capital of Mughal India and its superb monuments date from that era. It has a magnificent fort and the building which so many people come to India solely to see the Taj Mahal. On arrival check into hotel. Later tour Agra Fort, the original red sandstone fort built by Mughal Emperor Akbar in 1565. The Forts maze of courtyards, its marble mosque and lavish private chambers reflect the grandeur of the Mughal Empire. Visit Taj Mahal - the mausoleum of Empress Mumtaz Mahal, the beloved spouse of Shah Jahan, who died in 1630. Overnight at the hotel in Agra. NOTE : Taj Mahal is closed on Friday, if the guest’s Agra sightseeing falls on Friday as per his/her schedule the itinerary can be shuffled (if possible) as per his/her requirement.
